Summer Dance 2015!

River-Glen Elite Location

Beginner Ballet & Creative Movement – Wednesdays, 4:15 – 5:00 pm

June 17 – August 5

No Class on July 1st

Ages 2 – 4
$105 for members $119 for non-members

This class introduces young beginners to the discipline of classical ballet using creative movement techniques and center work. Dancers will learn elementary positions of dance and footwork skills including plié and tendu, as well as jumps, turns and leaps across the floor. Dancers are required to wear ballet pink leotards and footed pink tights as well as ballet slippers, hair pulled back off of face. A summer showcase will be performed the last week of class in August (Date TBA). Students will receive more information in Student Handbook and Policies Guidelines.

Intermediate Ballet & Tap Combo – Wednesdays, 3:15 – 4:15 pm

June 16 – August 4

No Class on July 1st

Ages 5 – 10
$126 for members $140 for non-members

Students will first experience 30 minutes studying classical ballet and elementary positions as well as alignment techniques. Students will learn barre exercises, center work and across the floor turns, leaps and jumps. The second half of class will consist of tap dance exercise combinations and movements combining rhythm and sound. Students will focus on performance as well as technique in the intermediate level. A required dress code of ballet pink leotards and pink footed tights as well as pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes is required. Hair should be pulled back off of face. A summer showcase will be performed the last week of class in August (Date TBA). Students will receive more information in Student Handbook and Policies Guidelines.

Brookfield Elite Location 

Beginner Ballet & Creative Movement – Tuesdays, 3:00 – 3:45 pm

June 16 – August 4

Intermediate Ballet & Jazz Combo – Tuesdays, 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Students will learn barre exercises, center work and across the floor turns, leaps and jumps. The second half of class will consist of Jazz dance exercise combinations and movements combining rhythm and steps. Students will focus on performance as well as technique in the intermediate level. A required dress code of ballet pink leotards and pink footed tights as well as pink ballet slippers and jazz shoes are optional, dancers can wear their ballet shoes or tennis shoes. Hair should be pulled back off of face. A summer showcase will be performed the last week of class in August (Date TBA). Students will receive more information in Student Handbook and Policies Guidelines.

Hip-Hop – Thursdays, 2:00 – 2:45 pm

June 18 – August 6

No Class on July 2nd

Ages 7 – 13
$105 for members $119 for non-members

An upbeat and fun 45-minute movement class based on studio Hip-Hop technique. Dancers will listen to their favorite pop tunes and learn and perform their dance in the summer showcase A great option for students just being introduced to dance and looking to get their energy out in a controlled and fun way! This class incorporates partner work and creative movement exercises. Dress code consists of Tennis shoes or sneakers, leggings or shorts and clothing dancers can move in, no jeans. A summer showcase will be performed the last week of class in August (Date TBA). Students will receive more information in Student Handbook and Policies Guidelines.
